When this Make a Difference page or the people involved with trying to make our city better, has compelled someone or some business to go to court, could it be possible to alert us as to the date of the court so if we chose to do so, we could appear on that day. Maybe we would like to observe or maybe appear as a witness to the proceedings.
Could we have the information available to us? What are your general thoughts on this?
Last summer the Ordinance Dept. gave them many citations, for uncut grass, upkeep, etc. The front of their building fell off, bricks laid in piles for almost a year. The bricks continue to fall off.
Recently I wrote about a business that was not following city ordinances to the point that our neighborhood was infested with rats. I have consistently reported, called, complained, etc. about this business. They are very aware of the problems that they are responsible for but they think no one can make them do anything.
Some of the bricks were thrown back into the windows. Just recently, the fallen bricks were removed, but the building is not repaired.
They have other businesses, computer repair, cell phone sales, in this building that they have no business licenses for.
They have not had any business license for the Auto Clinic since March 2014.
The parking area in the back, some of the piles have been removed, as well as some of the trashed vehicles, is a big problem. All photos shown are from today. As you can see, the dumpster is overflowed and the lid is open, giving the rodents a perfect jumping board into our yard.
The business is called Motor City Auto Clinic, located at 2955 Beech Daly just south of Michigan Ave.
The owners of these properties have not taken their responsibility of maintaining and repairing the buildings which adds to the blight problems in this area.
BEECH DALY CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT
The sign depicting the Beech Daly Central Business District is located in front of a building that has not been occupied for many years and is in terrible disrepair. The businesses across the street is in worse condition. The owners of these properties have not taken their responsibility of maintaining and repairing the buildings which adds to the blight problems in this area. This is located on Beech Daly, north of Van Born.
The E. Bradford school building also needs general repairs.
