Years yes years so many have said they want a new Mayor that they are sick of what this Mayor is doing to our City. For years here and now on Facebook so many Dearborn Heights residents have expressed their dissatisfaction with our Mayor Dan Paletko. This year the Mayor isn’t running unopposed this isn’t the first time that he hasn’t run unopposed so again we as residents are given a choice. The question is are we as residents going to chose this time to make the change we’ve been screaming about all these years?
It’s not enough to complain,
The time has come to work for the change that we have all wanted. It’s a good thing to expose all that this administration has done all these years. It’s good to write and express yourself here and on social media. Now, however, it’s time to do more than just ‘bitch’ about it and that includes me. Now it’s time to take action. You need to ask yourself do I just want to sit on my phone or on my computer and talk or do I want to take control and do something about this? If you do then join a campaign get involved. If you don’t know it yet I’m supporting Lisa Hicks-Clayton for Mayor. It’s not enough to just replace the Mayor we need to replace the Mayor with someone who has a proven track record of looking out for us. We need a person who has shown over the years that they are willing to go the extra mile for us. Someone who has always listened, who finds solutions to problems we are having. Who when they say they are going to look into something do just that and get back to you with an answer.
Lisa team has created a sign-up sheet asking what you can do to help her campaign and Join The Team the question is what can you do this isn’t going to be easy. Many of you know from a previous post the Mayor cleaned out his campaign fund and sent almost $25,000.00 to a PR firm in Lansing to prepay for his campaign. He will have his annual fundraiser in April where he will collect even more money to hire this firm to run his campaign. So yes it’s big deal folks he used this same firm when he ran against Janet Badalow. Money is important to get your message out there, but there are other important things you can do. Vote; the City of Dearborn Heights has a low voter turn out. You would think with all the issues that are in this City and all that this Mayor has done there would be lines on an election day. That isn’t the case one thing that needs to happen if you want to help for starters start talking about what is happening in this City.
Talk with neighbors, friends, and family meet up for coffee and have a discussion. Join the groups on Facebook, watch the Live Facebook this Friday that Lisa Hicks-Clayton is having on the subject, What Do You Want From Your Mayor? If we want a new Mayor we are going to have to work for it the Mayor has his campaign machine we need to make our own.
