June 23, 2015 City Council Meeting.

For those of you who don’t know that the Council meetings are now on Youtube here is the latest meeting. Residents of Hanover Street take to the microphone to express their concern/anger. If you don’t want to watch the whole meeting and skip to the end you can. I do think it’s important to hear the whole meeting, but if you are pressed for time you can fast forward. You can join the conversation over on the Truth Page on Facebook.

  1. City of Wolverine Lake population is less 4500 residents compared to Dearborn Heights of over 55000 residents. But they managed to have their council meetings broadcasted live!
    From their home page:
“Rich In History, Wolverine Lake was created in the 1920s through a private damming and inundation project funded by local dentist and developer Howard Stuart. Created from six small lakes, a critical early step in creating the lake involved the construction of the nearby dam, which began in 1919. The dam allowed water levels to rise eight feet in teh marsh surrounding Spring, Mayze, Pork Barrell, Bicking, Taylor and Bradley Lakes, thus uniting them. Learn more in our ‘About’ section.”

    ”Council Meeting

Why not spending part of the funds that the cable companies give the city on updating the public channel broadcasting? ( 3d video and sound, live broadcast with capacity for live questions without physically attending, daily programs for each city department to illustrate their services). I hope the ” City Information Officer” consider some of those recommendations.
