This weeks council meeting has an interesting request from the Clerks office the clerk would like to buy a new operating system for the Clerks office. The city switched over to BS&A costing the tax payers thousands, but making the city far more efficient. Every department able to communicate with each other saving time and money a novel idea right. Finally you get the whole city working on the same page only to find out that someone who wasn’t around when the different departments could not look up each others information in one place has decided he doesn’t want to do that. No the clerk wasn’t around for that never worked at city hall during those days. No matter he’s elected so he can do what he wants and he probably will get it his way no matter that it’s going to cost the tax payers extra money he wants to be different.
I just can’t understand why this person is incapable of working within the budgetary constraints that the city now finds itself in. Oh wait he said he could when he was running for the office. It’s a good thing the city has a charter that puts limits on elected officials in our city. Limits on the amount of money they can spend and limits to what their powers are while they hold office. I would sure hate to see what this person would do if there wasn’t the city charter to stop him.
For someone who claimed he was going to “Stream Line The Clerks Office.” this doesn’t feel like it more like throwing a monkey wrench into the moving parts. One good thing about BS&A we can see where the money’s spent and where it comes from you can take a look at it your self here.
