  1. Just to let everyone know I typed yoe insted of you in my last comment, I have fat fingers and my wife said I can’t speel with a darn. But think Mr. Mayor that KK’s actions at the last meeting is grounds for her to be fired. The entire city can see how she has brought you down and the city. The last mayor of Deroit and is AA went to jail for thier actions, and now there are texts to show how your AA spent some of her time at work. This could get ugly more than what it is. The whole city can see this why can’t you?

  2. This is great, hope to see you ant the texts you have at the next city council meeting. It’s great ad so are you. You have a lot of courage doing what you do. We need more people of the city with more courage to stand up and get Dbn Hgts back on track.

  3. You can send them to me I would LOVE to see them or let me see them at the next city council meeting, this is great. Mr Mayor it’s time to get off the pot or is it time to poop. KK must be fired NOW for her actions. The Detroit MS was put in Jail; for what she did, hell Detrois mayor also was put in jail. KK actions at the last city council meetings are enough to get her fired.

watching the drama unfold, is better than watching any reality show. move over house wives of atlanta, no dancing with the stars. I’m watchin Down and Dirty in Dearborn Heights!
The only sad part is we are not making any money off this story, and we could use that money
    for our city.
I have heard so much about Cindy Lazlo, i wish i could meet her, and tell her she is brave and awesome. we should admire her for adversity.
Take them all down honey, whoo hoooo!!!!!!!!!

  6. Scape goat, you must be joking right. I hope you are because then it would be funny. This is not a funny matter nor should it be treated like one. The mayors office has made some large mistakes in the last few years and the scape goat is front and center.

I am Titanium Lips and I have had a couple conversations with you in the past. Next time, I will let you know who I am….then we will really have a good laugh! In the meantime, thank you for being there and standing up for the citizens, it is appreciated by those who can’t do it themselves.

  8. If your were at the CCM tonight you got front row seats to watch Cindy Lazlo give it to all of 3 of them, her husband, KK & the mayor, they should all be ashamed!! But SHE is the bomb!! I am so impressed!! The way she slaped her ticket right in front of the mayor’s attorneys tonight was priceless!! What an amazing woman!! Sweetheart I’d marry you anyday!! Goodluck I hope those free attorneys get it all for you!!!

You’re right! KK is a HUGE part of the problem in this city. She has WAY TOO MUCH power but I don’t know why.

  12. IMO you must have been at a different meeting then me you are the only person who thought that lady was dangeroulsy concealing a weapon!! You have to be kidding, don’t try to put the focus on the crime in our world when there are people of same affairs “used loosely” who could be consider just as dangerous!!

Your right on Kathy that lady had class & style, her message was stong what NObody else would say! IMO that officer took you up on your command to move toward her & he did!! We all saw it!!

You say you empathize for this person, why? She wasn’t violent she seem quite sure about herself contained in her actions. You are crazy to think that she would. They would call that parinoia, people usually experience that when in intense moments they have something to be worried or ashamed about from their own actions and behavior & treatment of others…maybe if KK was a bit more humaine she wouldn’t have to scream for the cops every single moment she feels a bit uncomfortable!

Vegas your very right about the mayor and police displaying anger at these meetings. Should we also be concerned that anyone especially the extreme pressure the mayor his assistant have been under can become a dangerous sitituation & be violent. Who will stop him? Who would stop KK? We don’t know if KK is concealing a weopon for her pertection & that is a judgement call every person has a right to bear arms, but nobody should have the power of tap & go get them like she displayed!!

Scape goat de-jour IMO if you knew anything about that situation you would realize that, it is what it is!! Talked to a few people & they all said that lady looked good & she did have class! Maybe KK mistaken that, KK might have a hard time understanding what that word is all about! No one said here that she was cuffed and taken away but KK gesture to tap the officer appeared to be KK intensions.

As far as the political infighting maybe KK actions and personality has created that environment? Maybe she should consider her treatment of others? From what I understand she is not mature and she has in more then 1 way mistreated people all over this city with a so what type attitude and that refects my very opionion here on this.

  13. Thank you Vegas how many times has the Mayor screamed yelled pointed his fingers slammed his hand on the council table in the past two years. That night with the chief I had several tell me what the chief did and yes more than one was worried he was going to do something..

  15. At a council meeting I saw a very angry chief of police approach a gentlemen because he did not like what he was saying. The chief was carrying a gun No one told the chief to sit down . No officers went to the chief to calm him down. You are right angry and guns don’t mix….but it works both ways. I did not think her anger was of a violent nature. The chiefs sure was.

People who look visably upset or angry are potentially dangerous. What about the Mayor and his angry temper tantrums. He displays violatility on a regular basis.

I can not say what is the real reason the ATTM would not want this woman to speak there are things that I can not discuss here on the blog. These things were talked about at an open study session and all of council and who ever was there are very aware of the history between the two of them.. The ATTM was afraid that she was going to repeat what she said at the study session. Council Chair was all so worried that it was going to be a repeat of that session so he wanted to shut her up. Realizing that she has a bit more class than that he let her speak to the issue at hand.. There is a much large issue here it can not be that more than 20 people whom work with this person on a daily bases for over 6 years and are all saying the same thing can be wrong. As for her being the scape goat she has done her share in making it so.. Take the NSP program for one example costing this city well over 100,000.00 dollars. I have been sticking to the issues for 2 years and all of the things I discuses here are all connected..

  17. I think this has gotten way overblown. Two officers moved about 15 feet closer to the front of the room…along the walls, nowhere near her. I bet you would struggle to even see the officers if you looked at tape. I sort of empathize with the person who was talking in more than a few ways but the way it is portrayed here you would think she was cuffed and dragged out kicking and screaming by her hair.

Officers have done the exact same thing at council meetings when a potentially volatile person stepped up to the mic. Let us not forget there are NO metal detectors and people do bring guns to these functions. Anyone remember the guy who brought a gun to a schoolboard meeting and started firing at the board? Do you think it would be impossible for anyone to do that in this city? Fact is it is very possible.

People who look visibly upset or angry are potentially dangerous. That’s just the way it is. I would fault the police more if they ignored the possibility of violence in that situation.

As for Krissy giving orders. Cmon now. I don’t recall her carrying a walkie talkie, barking out co-ordinates or alerting SWAT teams. I did not hear the drone of a helicopter overhead she called in. She felt it prudent to tap the police chief on the shoulder. So what. If Ken or a citizen or anyone else did the same thing no one would care.

I know the assistant is the scape goat de-jour but lets temper the hate a bit and stick to actual issues. Part of the reason we are in this mess is the political infighting plaguing this city.

  18. That quote from Berry. Look around you City workers are paid more than the people that live here. You know us the taxpayer. You can hardly compare cities with much larger budgets to Dearborn Heights. The Mayor and the council are just trying to cya for all the mistakes they have made. They don’t think anything through they just do. I never suggested workers give up everything. Berry also said blue cross won’t lower their rates. Hello we know we pay them also.

What to cut? We haven’t even been told what the real damage is. The mayor did not tell us what not making payments to the drop program now will do to the city in the future. He mentions that on the last page of the booklet. Just to say that is what he is doing.

They are still being dishonest about the financial situation. They will in the end do as they please and then they will blame the taxpayer.

The meeting was a joke not close to what was asked for.

This town hall meeting was not to be the place for complaints but it turned out to be for the seniors. I followed the rules that was set up before the meeting. If you know anything about me you must know I say what is on my mind, sometimes I am wrong in how I say it but have the courage to say it. Just for the record my last name is Muscat, not Muskat.

  20. I do not know why the police would take orders from the mayor assistant, she is nothing and the mayor needs to fix that. I know he wont and that’s a shame. She needs to go. She has been running this city into the ground and everyone knows this to be true. I wish I would have gone to a lawyer, because I would look into this very close to see what I could do about it.

I have been told by more than one person that an officer was tapped on the shoulder and directed to go after this woman. The power that this assistant has is outrageous something I have been asking about for a very long time. Thank you for coming and saying what I have heard from many who work in the city and are afraid to speak out about anything out of fear that the ATTM will send someone after them. More than that they are sure that she will find a way to fire them if they say anything.

I am not sure how this works you have a 10% cut taken by the fire fighters union a 10% cut given to department heads deputies, and none union employees. The AFSCME Union workers voted for a furlough day so you have some employees taking go given 10% pay cut and others taking a furlough day. The city was closed on Friday, but some people did come into work the people that did come to work are people who had 10% cut given to them. The Mayor was not one that came in on Friday.

  23. Just asking does the mayor take a 10% pay cut then he is paid 80% of that because the city is closed on Friday. Is this a 10% pay cut with 52 vacation days????

  24. I was there sitting right by the mayor’s assistant she was the one who sent the officer to her at the mic. Don’t know what he expected to do but if he would have tried to stop her or arrest her, I would have to say that you are right lips fortunately for the city they stopped and allowed her to continue. I will not state my profession but there would have been further grounds for several suits against the city! She has grounds to successfully take them to the cleaners as it is! What she had to say did not seem personal as every city employee said. She had valid points and I respect her for standing there and saying what many people wanted to say, it took courage, strength & she delivered a common concern we all have! I have seen many people make the same comments here on your blog. Here is what I remember from what she said.
    1. I don’t trust you mayor
    2. I certainly don’t trust your assistant (that is when K.Barron tried to interrupt)
    3. She calmly stated she want the clock stopped because she wanted her 3 minutes.
    4. She said this is not personal, I’m listening to the seniors and the kids clubs begging to keep their centers open and you are pathetic for lying to us and not telling us till now that its this bad.
    5. You should be ashamed of yourself mayor. (And as I watched him he did look ashamed)
    6. She said something about the numbers not being right and why the auditors we paid did not see any of this & they should be fired for not. (I agree with here there)
    7. She said this is not personal but it is to these seniors & the kids that want to keep there centers open and they shouldn’t have beg to keep them.
    8. If you are going to ask for money then why not ask for the number you will need to keep the centers open, if u ask maybe they would be willing to pay more for that. But don’t tell them they have to choose what will be closed & the HO tax increase won’t be enough that services will be closed down.
    9. She did say you see this don’t matter to me if this passes or not I’m giving up on my house I’m gonna give it to the bank now.
    10. She calmly left the building.

As I listened, I realized how right she was! She didn’t say anything personal and whoever thinks she did was not listening to what she was saying. I for one commend her and bless her to risk so much to get up and say what we could not. Some of us have careers here in the city and quite frankly nobody wants the cops to be directed by that assistant to come after us! But she didn’t care she sat out to have her say and she did! It was 1 of the highlights of the meeting. Might I add that when I was leaving I heard some of the same officers and firemen there comment on how that lady is beautiful. I think she should know that, my son who was there agreed she was one lady who should know many of us noticed. I think that I have decided that I might seek her out and offer my assistance in her future legal needs. Several friends of mine are also considering to offer free services. Kathy, that was my favorite part of the night.
Leaving with this said. I was appalled to see the assistant direct the officer toward her! Who has that much power & why? Why would any officer not use their own judgement on what they should do! Right there she showed what she is able to have an officer do, but to the officer who would listen to the assistant & move on her command, how do you like being a puppet not a officer of the law? Now we all know what she risked & she did not seemed to care she said all of that for the seniors and kids she has heart if you ask me!

  25. Sorry, I thought the comments part of the meeting was a waste of time. Basically the city is going broke and NOBODY wants ANYTHING cut. Except it seems everyone thought it was okay to cut employee salaries & benefits, which it is reported are already among the lowest in the county. Why not have the city just do what restaurants do — pay everyone $3 an hour and let them rely on tips from residents!?!?!

Ok, so where did all that talk get us by the end of the night? Exactly where we started. If you want to save something from getting cut, then you must propose what to cut in its place!

  26. Yesterday while I was walking door to door a lady said I hope if you are elected you are going to keep something open down here. I was walking on the south end of town. I told her I am sorry I can not promise something I can not deliver. The fact of the matter is the city is in trouble and something has to go. I said to her that the Eton Center is leased and I have been told it needs a new roof. I was told that this will cost us 200k. I for one think this is a very high estimate not sure about the amount. This lady went on to say why would we pay for a roof on a property we lease? Very good question when I asked her about moving the services offered at the Eton center to another facility I said it my be crowded she replied crowded is better than nothing.. What she did say was she would not go to the north end of town to do anything.. Just letting you know what are the sentiments of some others said the city has to do what it has to do we have to be real about this and something has to be cut..

All are saying that the Mayor should have been more forth coming and I am putting it lightly. Everyone I let know that there was HO on the ballot in November said they knew about it. More than one mentioned the town hall on the 26th of September, and that they would be there. People are upset to say the least and very worried one thing I did notice no one was saying one way or another if they are going to vote for or against the HO.

  27. I was there. It was disgusting to watch our seniors get up in front of the council and beg them not to close the centers. And for the one who said that Berwyn got the big vote and Eton didn’t when the people raised their hands, the meeting you were at was basically for the NORTH END. That would be the people who are involved with the Berwyn center. And as far as repairs for the roof on the Eton center, why, if that was the case, did they do a bunch of outside decorating (rocks, benches, flowers, etc.) instead of putting it towards the new roof? Or maybe the consideration of how much was put into the Berwyn center on repairs & replacement of the boiler should have been equalized?
Back to the town hall meeting.
I watched the people raising their hands, talking and discussing with the others, and filling out their surveys. I listened and watched the people sitting at the head table. I watched the police. I wondered what was going to happen when someone stepped out of line.
I was elated to see the lady step up to the mic and tell the mayor just what he has been doing, making us mistrust him, lying to us. K Baron would have been better off giving the lady her three minutes and not antagonizing the situation. When will council realize that there is a freedom of speech, and unless that person is swearing, lying, inciting a riot or some other illegal activity, they should just shut the heck up and let the people have their three lousy minutes.
This is an ongoing problem, even at the city council meetings.
I also saw nods and chin pointing at the lady, and the guy in the back making his loud, obnoxious comments, and then I saw the police move towards her. Fortunately for someone, she finished speaking and left. What a sad state of affairs, and I am using that phrase loosely, when a part of our administration had a responsibility in creating such a sad situation.
My take on the meeting? Well, it was well orchestrated, much misinformation, very misleading, and just more crap. The seniors mistakenly believe that if they vote for the millage their senior centers and services will be saved. More lies? More misleading statements? Yep. So all these people filled out their surveys, with hope in their hearts and a mess at their feet. As people walked out I heard many people comment that the meeting was worthless or that there were still no answers to the questions they had.
I hope the council and the administration get their acts together for the next meeting.

  28. Why don’t we have a right to complain? Just bend over & take it? Nope! Who closes the doors on seniors & kids? Wrong!! Someone said ask for more money then maybe if you tell you need this much more to keep it all maybe that would pass! But don’t ask for not enough & still have to close some doors, so what doors do we want closed none except them the mayor can close his after this mess & never come back! He did lie to us & we should not trust him for it! We got scammed as he spent away money that could have made this better for us all!! Plant Moran needs to be fired too, what kind of auditor don’t catch a financial mess like this! Just to let you know the Eton center is not owned by the city, and it is going to need a new roof at the cost of $200,000.00 to $300,000.00 I do not think the city can afford to pay that right now..

  30. I got there a little late but in time to hear Ray Muskat stand up and say we weren’t allowed to complain. Wow – way to go! Let’s make this a feel good meeting. The place was FILLED with seniors and while I do sympathize with them, two senior centers is a little too much to expect. I was told that we couldn’t close one over the other because then we would be choosing one end of town over the other. But these are exceptional times. It seemed that when they asked for a show of hands for Berwyn or Eton, Berwyn won BY A LANDSLIDE. So – keep Berwyn open and close Eton. And then only keep it open for 3 days. Everyone has to sacrifice. And you’re right about the library. Didn’t even think of it although I had a conversation with Ken Baron and he told me the library was not on the table. So then why did it show up in the list? Didn’t you just love the way the mayor was falling all over people? Any other day of the week you can’t find him. I sent him an e-mail and asked if he was going to take his 10% cut alongside everyone else and he ACTUALLY answered me and said his cut was effective September 19. Other than that, not really impressed. Instead of talking about how we got where we are, we smiled and didn’t ask any IMPORTANT questions. I wouldn’t be a bit surprised this passes because of the seniors.
