Mayor Daniel S. Paletko issued the following statement:
Pursuant to Section 32-554(a) of the Dearborn Heights Code of Ordinances, I, Mayor Daniel S. Paletko, hereby declare a Snow Emergency in the City of Dearborn Heights effective 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 31, 2011.
Under Section 32-554, it shall be unlawful for any person to park, or to allow to remain parked, any vehicle on any street in Dearborn Heights until such time as I cancel the Snow Emergency. Such violators may be ticketed and/or towed.
Snow Removal Reminders:
Ordinance 28-29 states the following:
It shall be unlawful for any person to cause or permit the accumulation of snow and/or ice on sidewalks, alleys, approaches, service walks and any other paved surfaces adjoining his or her property used for pedestrian or vehicular travel. All snow and/or ice shall be removed within twenty-four (24) hours of the conclusion of a snow and/or ice event.
Ordinance 28-61 states the following:
No person shall plow, shovel, brush or heap up any snow, ice or other materials from private property onto the paved roadway of any street or highway in the city.
Ordinance 32-554 states the following:
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to park, or to be remain parked, any vehicle on any street in this city (a) upon which there has accumulated snow or ice to a depth of three (3) inches or more, or (b) during emergencies as declared by the mayor.
Also, garbage pickup will be delayed by a day (Wed pickup will now be Thursday, etc.)
